MOIA Convening
The MCN team attended the First Annual MOIA Convening, where our Community Coordinator shared MCN’s role in the immigrant nonprofit sector. Executive Director Husein Yatabarry also joined a panel discussion on the current state and future of support for immigrant New Yorkers.
DOVE Healthy Relationship Workshop
MCN held a healthy relationships workshop with MUNA, equipping 25 women with tools to recognize abuse, build boundaries, and seek support. The session fostered reflection and empowered participants to prioritize safety and wellbeing.

MCN partnered with Hindus for Human Rights to conduct an Immigrant Rights Workshop at Shri Shakti Mariammaa Temple in Ozone Park. Community members also accessed resources on childcare enrollment and benefits services.
Voter Registration Tabling - Masjid Ridwan
MCN engaged community members after Jummah prayer at Masjid Ridwan in the Bronx to educate them about the general election and register voters. Together, we successfully registered over 14 new voters.
Farewelcome Celebration for Imam Khalid Latif
MCN staff attended the FareWelcome celebration for Imam Khalid Latif, who is transitioning from his two-decade legacy at ICNYU to founding ICNYC. The event was joined by community leaders, including Mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani and comedian Ramy Youssef, celebrating both Imam Khalid’s impact and his new beginnings.
Bronx Wellness Fair
MCN organized a vibrant Bronx resource fair for women and families, providing meals, workshops, childcare, and multilingual services. Over a dozen partner organizations helped attendees access health, safety, and support resources.
July Soup Kitchen
At our monthly Soup Kitchen hosted at Church of the Holy Trinity, MCN served meals to over 95 individuals. With volunteer support from YAMA’s girls group, the day embodied generosity, dignity, and community.
Women's Wellness Vision Board Workshop
MCN partnered with SCWEN for a women's vision board workshop focused on mental wellness and goal setting. 35 participants bonded over mapping their dreams and creating visual paths toward healing and empowerment.
DOVE Healthy Relationship Workshop
MCN hosted a healthy relationships workshop with 70 young women from Futa Islamic Center, exploring the types of abuse, red flags, boundary-setting, and the importance of building respectful, safe relationships.
