MY NYC Guest Speaker: Shahana Hanif

On November 6th, Shahana Hanif kindly spent the afternoon speaking about her path to community activism, her identity as a Muslim American shaping the narrative, and answering questions from students on how they can ensure their voices are heard.

For the past nine weeks MY NYC students at Al-Noor School have been developing their leadership skills in weekly sessions, in addition to reading Leadership of Muhammed by John Adair. To wrap-up the leadership portion of the MY NYC curriculum, students met and heard from a local leader in the Muslim community and New York City.

We would like to thank Shahana for her time and words of wisdom.
