Violeta Zamora’s Biography

Violeta Zamora is the Case Management Admin Coordinator at the Muslim Community Network (MCN), she is a committed advocate for cross-cultural awareness, policy reform, higher education, transformative justice, foster youth, empowering marginalized communities through direct service access and civic engagement.

Prior to joining MCN, Violeta worked as a Program Coordinator in the Families and Youth in Transition Program at DC Public Schools, where she oversaw 117+ McKinney Vento Liaisons to implement family educational rights and coordinate supportive services for families facing displacement, migrating to the U.S. and homelessness. She also worked as a Case Manager for the Girls in Gangs program at the Youth Policy Institute in Los Angeles, where she led a program to assist young girls in transition out of the juvenile system through re-entry supportive services and mentoring.

Violeta holds a Bachelor’s in Political Science with a focus in Public Administration from California State University of Los Angeles and a Master’s in Policy Management from Georgetown University. She is excited to work at the MCN which embodies inclusivity, challenges systemic barriers and advocates for educational mobility for families, youth and adults.
