MISSION: The Muslim Consultative Network (MCN) works to strengthen and unify the diverse New York City Muslim community through education, collaboration, capacity-building and social justice advocacy.

VISION

1. MCN, as a network of NY activists, community leaders, and organizational representatives, is uniquely positioned to empower and engage Muslim community members across ethnic, class and racial boundaries (See members). MCN strongly encourages equal representation of male and female Muslim community leaders.
   MCN provides a platform to individual members and member organizations to share information, develop joint projects, and enhance mutual support. It works proactively to reduce the Muslim community's sense of isolation and help it realize its true potential.
   
2. MCN organizes and co-sponsors community trainings to promote organizational development and capacity building and to ensure community members' access to resources. We believe that by promoting greater cooperation and increased civic engagement, we will also promote more resilient communities.
   
3. While MCN services are faith-based, we do not limit our assistance to those in the Muslim community, but rather aim to support and collaborate with all New York communities irrespective of race, class, religion, ethnicity, gender or other backgrounds. Our members are active in interfaith dialogue, recognizing its importance as an essential component of community building.

APPROACH: MCN members are activists, social service professionals, community-based organizations, and community leaders working to strengthen the New York City Muslim community by:

• providing social services
• promoting civic engagement
• encouraging interfaith dialogue
• developing sustained education and outreach campaigns on these and other issues of concern
