Speakers Bureau
Founded in 2003 as a group of NYC based Muslim volunteers responding to urgent needs after 9/11, MCN has been working to build consensus and cooperation among diverse Muslims--crossing ethnic, gender, class and religious boundaries to build unity and understanding. MCN came by its name "consultative" to indicate that we value mutual consultation which as an Islamic principle (Shura) is a way to make decisions. MCN has been a nonprofit since August 2008 and is incorporated in the State of New York.
"MCN is useful because it brings individuals, groups, and communities together to identify problems and work to find solutions."
Abdellatif Cristillo
"Why is MCN important? It is vital to build networks/community among the NY Muslim population".
Moushumi Khan
"MCN provides connection to active New York Muslims and Muslimas and
helps us envision a more peaceful and productive future. This network
gives me hope!"
Adem Carroll
"It makes all participants feel like important stakeholders."
Debbie Almontaser
"MCN offers a platform to engage the difficult task of intra-faith dialogue."

And those who answer the call of their Lord and establish worship, and who conduct their affairs by mutual consultation, and who
spend of what We have bestowed on them.
